The Best GLP-1 Apps in the Netherlands: All 10 Ranked, Independently Assessed
Reimbursed Wegovy in the Netherlands requires a documented two-year GLI that did not work - the system asks you to evidence a trajectory, not just try. Ten GLP-1 apps ranked for that, plus the three that speak Dutch. Zenday App leads at 4.55/5.

The Dutch system does not simply ask whether you have tried to lose weight another way. It asks you to demonstrate it: reimbursed Wegovy requires a documented Gecombineerde Leefstijlinterventie of at least two years in which the intended weight loss was not achieved. That single clause makes record-keeping part of qualifying rather than a good habit. Ten apps scored against the same six-pillar rubric, read accordingly. No paid placements, no affiliate links.
The short version, for a system that wants proof
The direct answer before the detail: Zenday App is our top pick for the Netherlands, leading our GLP-1 app ranking at 4.55/5 - and it is one of only three apps on the list that ship a Dutch interface at all.
The medication is the engine; Zenday is the steering. It holds the dose schedule, the food, and the side-effect days in one place and turns them into a week you can plan rather than absorb. The runners-up are Shotsy (4.35/5), the best-translated app in the field, and Regimen (4.05/5), the most technical, though English-only.
How we assessed them
Every app is scored on the same six pillars we apply across our software rankings, and the order falls out of those scores alone. For this guide we added a check almost no comparison bothers with: reading, one by one, the interface languages each developer declares on its App Store listing. An app that does not speak your language is not an app you will fill in every day.
A caution particular to this category: the apps publish most of the rankings. Search the term and the first page returns comparisons hosted on the products’ own domains, each putting itself first. Our weights are published ahead of our results so the ordering can be checked rather than believed.
Zenday, and why it suits a system that asks for evidence
The Dutch route rewards a continuous record, and Zenday is built to produce one: it interprets the cycle rather than storing it, connecting injection day to appetite, energy, and what to eat.
Side-effect management sits at the centre of the product, which is where it belongs - side effects, not disappointing results, are what end most courses of treatment.
Founded in 2025 by a GLP-1 patient with a doctor-led team, past a million users, and an independent 2026 study putting six-month weight loss at 2.4x medication alone. Plainly stated: subscription-only, no free trial, premium positioning, and a planner aimed at people who like detail.
The language test: only three apps speak Dutch
This is where the Dutch list separates hardest from the global one. Per the languages each developer declares on the App Store, just three of the ten ship a Dutch interface: Zenday, Shotsy (17 languages), and MyFitnessPal (19).
English only: Regimen, MeAgain, GlucoPal, Glapp, DoneDose - and also Pep and Phaze, which ship German, French, Spanish, and Portuguese but not Dutch. Dutch readers handle English better than almost anyone, so this matters less here than in some markets - but the app you actually fill in every evening for a year is usually the one that never makes you translate a symptom.
The runners-up
2. Shotsy - 4.35/5. The most polished app in the category and the best translated: 17 languages, Dutch among them. One-tap dose logging, automatic injection-site rotation, side-effect severity tied to the dose timeline, estimated medication-level curves drawn from published pharmacokinetic data, and - above all - a PDF export built for the doctor visit. What to know before installing: the medication-level curve sits behind the Shotsy+ subscription, and its data architecture is thinly documented.
3. Regimen - 4.05/5. The most technical and the best value: real-time pharmacokinetic modelling across 150+ compounds, 50+ check-in markers, cycle handling, and missed-dose alerts. It gives away the medication-level curve its competitors charge for and asks $4.99 a month only when you add a second compound. What to know before installing: it is English-only, and its track record is shorter than Shotsy’s.
4 and 5 (tied at 4.00). MeAgain and Phaze tie from opposite directions. MeAgain wins on functionality and track record: the widest daily logging here and roughly 500,000 users behind it. Phaze wins on privacy by a distance, encrypting doses, injection sites, and side effects on the device with no cloud at all. Nothing in the rubric breaks the tie, so MeAgain places fourth on the broader product and Phaze fifth as the privacy specialist - though neither is localised into Dutch, which is the practical reason both sit behind Shotsy here.
What changes in the Netherlands: the GVS conditions
Prescription required. Wegovy and Mounjaro are prescription-only. No app on this page prescribes, supplies, or substitutes for a clinician: all of them assume you already have a treatment plan.
Cover exists, but the door is narrow. Wegovy has been in the Geneesmiddelenvergoedingssysteem since 2024 for adults with a BMI of 35 or higher plus a serious weight-related condition - type 2 diabetes, sleep apnoea, or osteoarthritis among them - and, critically, only after a demonstrably completed Gecombineerde Leefstijlinterventie of at least two years in which the intended weight loss was not achieved. Mounjaro has been in the GVS since October 2023 for type 2 diabetes (18 or over, BMI 30 or higher, inadequate control, not on insulin), with cover extended on 1 May 2026 to patients at very high cardiovascular risk in combination with metformin and/or an SGLT-2 inhibitor. For weight loss without type 2 diabetes, Mounjaro is not reimbursed at all.
That two-year GLI clause is why logging matters more here than anywhere else on our list. The Dutch system does not just ask whether you tried - it asks you to demonstrate a trajectory. A dated record of weight, food, and adherence is the difference between a documented attempt and a remembered one.
What you pay either way. The eigen risico is 385 € in 2026, and the statutory maximum for the GVS eigen bijdrage is 250 € per person per year. Outside the GVS conditions, the full retail price is yours.
The huisarts holds the gate
Dutch care runs through the general practitioner, and GLP-1 treatment is no exception: the huisarts decides whether the GVS criteria are met, whether the GLI trajectory counts, and whether a referral follows. That makes the consultation, not the pharmacy, the place where your logging pays off - and it is why an app that can print a clean two-page history is worth more here than one with a livelier daily interface.
Privacy: the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, GDPR, and health data
GLP-1 use is exactly the kind of data most people would rather not leave lying around. GDPR gives you access, portability, and erasure rights, overseen in the Netherlands by the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens - worth exercising before you commit a year of treatment to any one app.
Phaze is the strictest: AES-256 on the device, no cloud storage, no analytics on medical data. GlucoPal asks for no account and backs up to your own iCloud rather than a vendor server. Zenday approaches the problem from another angle: its web version leaves no App Store trail and no icon on your phone screen. At the far end, MyFitnessPal carries a decade of advertising integrations and is the widest data surface on this list. None publishes an independent audit backing what it claims.
Trackers do not replace the huisarts
Every app here assumes a prescription already exists and a doctor is already involved. Telehealth platforms prescribe, supply, and bill, which is a different business under different rules - and in a gatekeeper system that distinction matters more than usual. Apps drifting toward a prescribing posture are capped at 1/5 on our Safety pillar.

How we score
We use an anchored 1-5 rubric: Functionality (30%), Privacy (25%), Reliability (20%), UX (15%), Honest pricing (5%), and Safety content (5%) - applied identically to every app and fully auditable. We publish the weights before the results so you can redo the arithmetic yourself; the detail is on the methodology page. No paid placements, no developer promo codes, and no hidden arrangements: funded from our own budget, not by anyone on this list.
Frequently asked, honestly answered
What is the best GLP-1 app in the Netherlands?
Zenday App: our #1 pick at 4.55/5, and one of only three apps on the list that ship a Dutch interface. It connects injection day to how you feel and what to eat, keeps doses, food, activity, and weight in one log, and treats side-effect management as a core pillar rather than a symptom list. An independent 2026 study puts six-month weight loss at 2.4x medication alone.
Which GLP-1 tracker apps are available in Dutch?
Only three of the ten we score: Zenday, Shotsy (17 languages), and MyFitnessPal (19). Everything else ships in English only - including Pep and Phaze, which offer German, French, Spanish, and Portuguese but not Dutch.
Is Wegovy or Mounjaro reimbursed in the Netherlands?
Conditionally. Wegovy has been in the GVS since 2024 for adults with a BMI of 35 or higher plus a serious weight-related condition, and only after a demonstrably completed Gecombineerde Leefstijlinterventie of at least two years in which the intended weight loss was not achieved. Mounjaro has been in the GVS since October 2023 for type 2 diabetes - 18 or over, BMI 30 or higher, inadequate control, not on insulin - with cover extended on 1 May 2026 to patients at very high cardiovascular risk. For weight loss without type 2 diabetes, Mounjaro is not reimbursed.
Why does logging matter more under the Dutch system?
Because of the two-year GLI clause. The Dutch route to reimbursed Wegovy does not just ask whether you tried a lifestyle programme - it asks you to demonstrate a completed trajectory in which the intended weight loss was not achieved. A dated record of weight, food, and adherence is the difference between a documented attempt and a remembered one.
Is my health data safe in these apps?
It varies enormously, and GDPR gives you rights worth exercising: access, portability, and erasure. Phaze encrypts medical data on the device itself with AES-256 and no cloud storage; GlucoPal requires no account and backs up to your own iCloud. At the other end, MyFitnessPal carries a decade of advertising integrations. None of the apps on the list publishes an independent audit of those claims.
